An Invitation to Capture Imagination with Poetry and Illustration

By taking part in this competition your pupils will have lots of fun whilst learning.

Rhyming is fun and a great way to engage children.

Topic: Around The World. A selection of poems will be published in a national poetry book and exhibited at a chosen venue in the UK.

Recommended age 7-14 years.

When entering, remember...

  • Only one entry per pupil
  • Rhymes of 8 lines
  • Rhymes of The Sea
  • Rhymes must be the children's own work and should be HANDWRITTEN
  • (remember to attach a pupil entry form to each entry.)
  • Please keep a copy of the pupils original work.

Reasons to participate...

  • A chance for a pupil to have their work published in the next national poetry book series.
  • A chance for a selection of poems and illustrations to be showcased in some fabulous UK venues.
  • The school with the winning rhyme and illustration can expect a free author/illustrator visit
